Here are the steps to locate theories in the SAGE Knowledge database.

1. From the Walden Library's homepage, click on Databases A-Z

2. In the dropdown choices at the top, click on All Database Types.

3. Click on Encyclopedias and Dictionaries.

4. Click on SAGE Knowledge (formerly SAGE Encyclopedias) 

You may be prompted for your username and password. This is the same as what you use in your myWalden portal.

5. In the search box type:


Tip: the asterisk (*) tells the database to look for different endings to the root word

6. Click the magnifying glass to run the search.

7. Click in the search box on the right labeled Search Within Results.

8. Type in your topic area. For example: 


9. Click the magnifying glass to run the search.

Here is what the Search Within Results box should look like:

10. In the results list, click on the title you want to view. 

The entry will have an overview of the theory. If you scroll down you will see the original works cited. Sometimes there might be links below the citations that will take you to the article if we have it in our Library.
