Walden Center for Academic Excellence (CAEX) courses are (typically) optional courses offered by the Academic Skills Center. These courses are designed to foster academic skill development for Walden students. These courses often focus on developing skills in critical thinking, writing, and reading.
If you have had an Academic Integrity concern raised in a course, your program administrators may have contacted you regarding the need to take a course from the Walden Center for Student Success to assist in developing a specific skill set.
You can find out more information about the CAEX courses on the Academic Skills Center's CAEX courses and workshops website.
If you are not sure what CAEX course might be best for you, you can take either our self-assessment quiz (best for students who understand their own writing issues) or our diagnostic quiz (best for students who would like assistance in identifying their writing issues).
- Self-assessment quiz
- NOTE: This quiz is not validated. This quiz also relies on you knowing your own writing strengths and weaknesses.
- Diagnostic quiz
- NOTE: This quiz is not validated. We cannot guarantee that the identified topics are points of weakness, or that a course will result in improvement. This quiz is simply a tool for you in identifying potential areas of writing focus and your options for support.
