Where can I find organizational tools for note taking?

The Writing Center provides a few tools and suggestions to help you strengthen your note taking and organizational skills in your writing:

• Use a literature review matrix to help organize your notes. While these tables are particularly helpful for students writing their literature reviews, they can also provide a helpful template for any student who wants to organize his or her research. View and download these matrices from the Writing Center's website.

• Use a mind map to help categorize and organize your ideas. See a blog post about the value of mind-mapping.

• View some other tips on how to best categorize and organize your research notes.
