Students have access to the course and their coursework in Canvas from the course start date until 1 year after the course ends.

To retrieve documents from a previous Canvas course, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log into your student portal
  2. Click the ‘Go to Class’ link on the left navigation menu
  3. Click ‘Courses’ from the Global Navigation Menu in Canvas.
  4. Select ‘All Courses’
  5. Click the name of a course from the displayed list
  6.  You will be able to download all submitted assignments from the Grades section.

Unfortunately, we cannot retrieve previous course content including syllabi, learning resources, assignments, Discussion, rubrics, or submitted videos. If its course content from within a year, please try the steps above.

You can locate previous year’s course descriptions from our Archived PDFs section of the Walden University Catalog.

For future reference, students have access to their course and coursework from the course start date until 1 year after the course ends. For that reason, we strongly recommend students retain copies of completed assignments using a backup system such as One Drive. This service is free, and you can access it using your log-in for the student portal. To log in to OneDrive, please go to: https://onedrive.live.com/about/en-us/signin/.

For additional information, contact Customer Care 24/7 by phone at 1-800-925-3368 or via chat in the student portal under the help icon.
