You are normally awarded within 4 weeks of the start of the term.  However, the following conditions could affect your awarding time:

  • If you submit your FAFSA close to or after start date, it normally takes 5 business days for the government to send us your information.  Once we received this, it takes the Financial Aid office 7 business days to award you.

  • If you are near your lifetime limit, your account must go through a manual review process prior to awarding.  This process takes 2 weeks from the receipt of your FAFSA.  To see if your file requires manual review, go to your myFinAid portal and select the “Messages” tab.

  • If you are applying for a GradPlus Loans, you must complete a credit application and promissory note with your loan application.  We normally receive your credit decision within 3 business days.  From that point, it takes additional 7-14 business days to award you.
