How do I know if I am full time or part time? How does this affect my Financial Aid?

Note: On July 4, 2025, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) was signed into law, resulting in changes to federal student aid programs.  Please review additional information on reduced annual loan limits for students enrolled less than full-time on the Walden University Financial Options page.

For Graduate students, you need to have at least 6 credits/term to be full-time, and at least 3 credits/term for half-time.

For students in a Bachelor’s program, you need to have at least 12 credits/term to be full-time, 9-11 credits/term to be three-quarters time, and at least 6 credits/term to be half-time.
