An EBSCO personal user account allows you to save searches, create search alerts, and save resources to personal folders.
- This is a completely individual account you are creating with EBSCO.
- You must click Sign In to access your personal account and folder every time, after you sign in as a student.
- The folder will work the same across all databases from EBSCO.
- The EBSCO account folder is not accessible from non-EBSCO databases.
- If you would like to keep lists of articles you find across different types of databases, regardless of which company owns them, you might be interested in citation management software.
If you already have a personal EBSCO account, you can log into view your previously saved content.
- Once logged into any EBSCO database, click Switch Accounts in the top corner of the search page.
- Sign in to your previously created personal EBSCO account with your previously selected Username or email address and chosen password.
EBSCO allows users to merge account information (saved articles, searches, alerts) from a previously created personal EBSCO account into a newly created account. Please note that once your accounts are merged into your newly created account, the previous account is no longer available.
Follow the steps below to merge accounts:
- Once logged into any EBSCO database, click Update My Account in the upper corner of the search page.
- To start the merge process, click Get Started in the EBSCO Merge Accounts section at the bottom of the box.
- Next, click Sign in to Your Second Account and sign in to your previous personal EBSCO account using the username and password you created when you initially setup the account.
- After signing in, you will see a summary of the account merger. The Secondary Account listed at the top represents your previously created account. The Current Account will be your new account. Any items you have saved to your new account will be saved after merging accounts. Once you’re ready, click Merge Account.
- You will be asked to continue the merge process. The message also indicates that your previous EBSCO personal account will be deleted. If the contents of your previous account are especially large or valuable to you, be sure to export them prior to merging accounts. Click Continue to finalize the merger.
- A confirmation email will be sent once the merger is complete. Once you log back into any EBSCO database, you will see your updated account with the newly merged content.
