You can search in one of the dissertation databases using terms related to your degree program, such as education, public policy, public health, or counselor education, and a database limiter for program, Department - DEP.

  1. On the Library homepage click on Publications.
  2. Click on the Dissertations & Theses button.
  3. Click the Dissertations & Theses at Walden University link.

You may be prompted to log in with your myWalden Portal user name and password.

Note: You should now be on the Advanced Search page with more than one search box.  If you only have one search box on your screen, click on the Advanced Search link.

  4. Set up your search:

First search box: education [or the degree program you need]

To the right of that, click on the Anywhere except full text — NOFT drop-down menu and change it to:

    Department - DEP

    Second search box: Ph.D.

To the right of that, click on the Anywhere except full text — NOFT drop-down menu and change it to:

    Degree - DEG

  5. Click on the search icon.

You will need to look through the results to make sure the dissertation is for the degree program you need. The search can help make your results more manageable, but it is not perfect.

For example, if you search for Education, you may also see Counselor Education or Health Education dissertations.

If you are not sure of the name of your program, try searching for different variations of the name. For example, you could try counseling or counselor in a search if you were not sure of your program name. That would bring up dissertations for Counselor Education and Supervision.
