Starting in the summer 2020 term, Walden University uses APA 7 as the official style guide. All students in coursework should use APA 7 for their course papers as of the summer 2020 term.

Students who are working on doctoral capstone studies (dissertations, doctoral studies, project studies, etc.) should complete their studies in APA 7 starting in summer 2020.

However, students who have plans to finish their doctoral capstone studies by the end of 2020 can use APA 6. These students must receive final URR approval by the end of 2020. All students should use APA 7 for doctoral capstone studies completed after January 1, 2021.

Visit the Writing Center's APA 7 Transition page for more resources on learning APA 7.
