No. There is not a maximum number of words. Form and Style editors generally recommend sticking to around 12-15 as a guideline. According to the APA 7 §2.4, “although there is no prescribed limit for title length in APA Style, authors are encouraged to keep their titles focused and succinct” (p. 31).
