Walden’s Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) system is a tool used to enhance our students' account security. The MFA tool is used to ensure you are the person accessing your account. Due to Walden’s commitment to protecting our student’s information, our Multi-Factor Authentication cannot be permanently disabled.
If you lose your mobile device or change your phone number, we can temporarily remove you from the MFA system. Your MFA will remain disabled for 48 hours. At the end of the 48 hours, your MFA account will be re-enabled. Once re-enabled, you will automatically be asked to update your MFA account information once you log in.
Remember, your MFA can send you a text or even call your phone number to validate your account. You can also put in a work phone number and extension. The MFA system can even verify your account using up to three different phone numbers.
You can also download and install the Microsoft Authenticator application (app). You can locate this app from the App Store on your mobile device to download and install. The Authenticator app will generate a personal code every 30 seconds or even send your mobile device a push notification. Cellular service is not required to use the app once it has been downloaded. Once completed you can follow the steps below to set up your MFA contact information.
- Access the MFA setup website.
- Log in using your myWalden e-mail and password.
- Click Next on the More Information Required page.
- Complete the form with your phone number and desired method of contact and click next.
- Complete additional information if desired and complete the questions.
- You have successfully change your phone number.
