Will my video in Canvas show closed captions and can they be edited?

Closed captions are automatically created for all newly uploaded or created videos in Canvas.

Your captions should appear within an hour for a typical video. Longer videos may take up to five times the length of the video. If your video is an hour long, the maximum amount of time it will take the
captions to appear is five hours (this is not typical).

The accuracy of automated captions is about 85%. Therefore, it is a good practice to review your captions for accuracy and make any necessary edits.

NOTE: You may notice the ‘Edit Captions’ option is greyed out while the captions process, but eventually will become available when the process is complete.
