  1. Verify that you are using appropriate installation and registration instructions for your computer type (PC/Windows or Mac).
  2. Check to see if SPSS is already downloaded on your system by checking the Control Panel/Windows Settings (PC/Windows) or Applications folder (Mac).  You may only need to add the license code.
  3. A common issue occurs when you download SPSS to a computer, and the license code is not entered during this process. If this occurs, you do not need to uninstall and re-install SPSS.  You can access the License Wizard and add the code from the Start Menu following the steps below:

  • A new window will open prompting you to follow steps to add the License Code. 
  • Once complete, you will be able to access SPSS.

On older versions of Windows, go to Start > All Programs > IBM SPSS > IBM SPSS Statistics Licensing Wizard. If you have Windows 10, go to Start > find IBM SPSS in the list of programs > IBM SPSS Statistics Licensing Wizard. On a Mac, find the SPSS Statistics Licensing Wizard in your list of Applications.
