  1. Verify that you are using appropriate steps whether on a MAC or PC.

  2. Verify you are using the appropriate steps for a 32 or 64-bit machine if on a PC.  This can be found under Start > Computer > Properties > System.

  3. Check to see if SPSS is completely downloaded by checking the Control Panel.  You may only need to add the license code.

  4. A common issue occurs when you download SPSS to the computer, but the license code is not entered during this process. If this occurs, you do not need to uninstall and re-install SPSS.  You can access the License Wizard and add the code from the Start Menu following the steps below:

  • On older versions of Windows, go to Start > All Programs > IBM SPSS > IBM SPSS Statistics Licensing Wizard. If you have Windows 10, go to Start > find IBM SPSS in the list of programs > IBM SPSS Statistics Licensing Wizard. On a Mac, find the SPSS Statistics Licensing Wizard in your list of Applications.
  • A new window will open prompting you to follow steps to add the License Code.
  • Once complete, you will be able to access SPSS.
  1. If you encounter an error when copying and pasting the SPSS license code, please try manually entering the code before contacting Customer Care for installation and licensing support.
