According to Alabama law (Ala. Code § 610-X-3-.04), the State of Alabama requires out-of-state institutions to submit necessary paperwork on behalf of School of Nursing students to the Alabama Board of Nursing 30 days prior to practicum. Part of this paperwork includes submitting a letter from the CNO at the student’s chosen field site. The CNO letter (on the field site’s letterhead) must include the following:

1). Confirmation that the student (you) will be doing a practicum at their facility and student (you) has been accepted.

2). Dates or approximate dates of practicum.

3). Chosen Preceptor or at least focus of practicum.

Please make sure to submit this CNO letter by the practicum application submission deadline via your Meditrek account.
