Students can apply for the book advance starting one month prior to the start date of the term and all the way up until their financial aid disburses to their Walden account.

You can request a Book Advance within your myWalden student portal, following the steps below:   

  1. Login to your myWalden portal.
  2. Locate the Support section on the left navigation menu.
  3. Click the Student Request Forms under the Support section.
  4. Locate and click the Book Advance Form.

 

Once you have applied, please check your Walden email for a confirmation email and a decision email.

If denied for the book advance, please review the denial reason in the decision email. You may request another book advance once you meet all the requirements.

If approved, the refund will be posted to your bill, and released via your chosen refund method within 3-5 business days. You will receive an email notification when your book advance funds are released. 

  • Direct deposit can take an additional 1-2 business days to be processed by your bank.
  • Paper checks can take up to 7-10 business days to be sent to you via the US Postal Service.
