Your financial aid account will be affected in two ways if you have to drop a class after the first 7 days of the start date.
- You will receive a “W” grade which will affect your overall completion rate. Please remember that you must maintain a 67% overall completion rate of all attempted credits here at Walden to be eligible for financial aid.
- Your account will have to be reviewed for what is called, Return of Title IV Funding. If you drop a class which financial aid paid for, the participation percentage in the term will automatically be reviewed. If the percentage is less than 60%, a portion of the financial aid that you received will have to be sent back to the lender. This could create a balance on your account, for which you would be responsible for payment back to the school.
- We are unable to pre-determine what this amount will be.
- Please allow up to 45 days for your account to be reviewed to process this transaction.
You can contact the Office of Financial Aid at 1-800-925-3368 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
