You are normally awarded financial aid within 4 weeks of the start of the term. However, the following conditions could affect your award time:
- If you submit your FAFSA close to or after the start date, it normally takes 5 business days for the government to send us your information. Once we receive this, it takes the Financial Aid office 7 business days to award your aid.
- If you are near your lifetime limit, your account must go through a manual review process prior to awarding. This process takes 2 weeks from the receipt of your FAFSA. To see if your file requires manual review, go to the myFinAid portal, select the Menu and click Messages.
- If you are applying for a GradPlus Loan, you must complete a credit application and promissory note with your loan application. We normally receive your credit decision within 3 business days. From that point it takes an additional 7-14 business days to award you.
