Walden University strives to provide students with support and flexibility as they pursue graduate studies. As much as Walden tries to support students with service and flexibility, we must adhere to the University’s academic policies that require standards of time to degree completion. If an Academic Advisor is attempting to reach you regarding this, it may be that you are nearing or have passed the maximum time allowed for degree completion.
Walden University has time limits from initial enrollment to completion of degree program, which are as follows:
- Doctoral students: 8 calendar years
- Master’s and EdS students: 5 calendar years
- Undergraduate students: 8 calendar years
Please note: Time taken for Leave of Absence does count towards Time to Degree Completion.
These standards are included in the Student Handbook.
