Walden uses the 6th edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA Manual), which is the most recent edition.
Changes after first printing:
After the first printing of this edition, a few additional changes were made. If you have the first printing, check out the Writing Center's APA Checklist, the APA Style Blog’s post on the updates, or the APA style website to see what has changed in subsequent printings.
Electronic resources supplement:
In May 2012, APA digitally released the APA Style Guide to Electronic Resources, a PDF adaptation of Chapter 6 of the Sixth Edition of the APA publication manual. While this guide clarifies some citation and reference formats for new media and technologies, Walden will not be enforcing the alterations the guide makes to the 6th edition of the APA manual until these changes are included in a full 7th edition of the APA manual.
The Essential Guide to APA:
Many programs, especially undergraduate and master's programs, require the Essential Guide to APA in place of the full manual. Laureate Education is the publisher, and the guide adheres to APA's 6th edition manual's guidelines.
