To cite a chapter of a book in APA format include the following in your reference entry:
Author, A. (Year). Title of the chapter. In A. Editor & B. Editor (Eds.), Title of the book (xx
ed., Vol. xx, pp. xxx-xxx). Location: Publisher*
For electronic books, replace the location and publisher with the retrieval information (Retrieved from URL) or DOI number.
If there is no edition or volume number, simply omit the information that you do not have.
*Remember to insert a hanging indent for each reference entry. See the Academic Skills Center's tutorials to learn how to create a hanging indent.
If you are citing other types of sources, view the Writing Center's Common Reference Entries page for other tips on creating reference lists.
