Please note: Running heads are omitted in Walden’s doctoral capstones and KAMs, and Walden course papers no longer require a running head. A page number at the top right of each page will now suffice.

A running head in APA should follow these guidelines:

  • The words Running head: should appear before the shortened title (only on the first page).

Note: The running head should be in normal font with only the R capitalized.

  • The words Running head: should be left justified.
  • On the first page, a shortened version of your title should follow Running head:This title should be in ALL CAPS.
  • Page numbers should be right justified.

  • On the second and subsequent pages, include the shortened version of your title in ALL CAPS and the page number.
