Even though the amount of research being done grows every year, there are still research topics that haven't focused on particular countries, geographical regions, or cities.

Here are some approaches to try:

  • Search for your general topic first.
  • Do not limit your search to a particular country, region, or city in your initial searches.
  • If there are many results for your search, put the name of the country, region, or city in a separate search box to limit your search to that geographic area.
  • Try different ways of searching by area. If you don't find results for a country, try a region. If you don't find results for a city, try a country or state.

While there might not be studies on your topic for a specific country or city, you may be able to use studies conducted elsewhere to back up your arguments in your assignment or research.

Because Walden University is based in the United States, the majority of our collection is research published in English. There may be academic journals published in other languages that we don't have available in our collection. That may make research on some countries and topics more difficult.
